The 2-Minute Missed Call Check

Nobody can tell you whether an AI receptionist is worth it until you know what the phone is losing. Eight questions, and the number is on the screen before you reach the bottom of this page.

These are the same figures we work through on a paid roadmap call. The numbers are yours free; what to do about them is the conversation.

1. Roughly how many calls does the practice get in a normal week?

calls a week (include the ones nobody answered)

2. When everyone is with a patient, what happens to a ringing phone?

3. Calls after 6pm and at weekends?

4. When a new patient leaves a voicemail, how often do they book with you?

5. What is a typical new-patient treatment worth to you?

£first visit or first course

6. How many of your calls are people trying to book, move or cancel an appointment?

7. No-shows: how are reminders done today?

8. Who answers the phone most of the day?

Nothing is stored. The maths runs on this page.
Your result

calls missed a month
new patients lost a month
phone score out of 100

Three Essex practices a month can run the agent live for two weeks and pay nothing if they stop. Ask on the call.

Want the whole picture rather than the phone? The roadmap call is 60 minutes on where the time and the money actually go in your practice, with a written plan after it. £497, and it comes off the setup fee if you go ahead with an agent.

Why we ask

The phone is the front door.

Most practices know their no-show rate and their average treatment value. Almost none know how many calls ring out. The check puts those together so you can decide with a number instead of a feeling.

The maths is deliberately cautious: it counts only the calls you miss, only the share that were trying to book, assumes just one in four of those is a new patient, and counts only the ones who never came back. If the number is small, keep your setup. If it is not, hear the agent on your own phone first, then decide.

The Scaling Firm is in Brentwood and a member of the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce. One real deployment, a transport firm, has answered 22 customer calls in 150 days, 18 of them out of hours.
